FAQ - Repayment

What methods can be used for repayment?

Promise offers customers a number of repayment methods for personal loans:

Autopay
Visit one of our branches to execute a Direct Debit Authorization Form authorizing Promise to arrange for repayment via autopay from your designated bank account in each month.

PPS*
Call "18031" or log onto https://www.ppshk.com. Make payment quoting Merchant Code "81". After completion of payment, please keep the reference number as a record for future enquiries. During registration or payment, please enter the first 8 digits of your membership number.

7-ELEVEN*
You may make repayments in cash by presenting your membership card with Barcode or the Repayment QR code at any 7-ELEVEN Convenience Stores in Hong Kong. Please note that there is a HK$5,000 cap on single payment. Payments exceeding $5,000 will be made in two or more transactions. After completion of payment, please keep all the receipts as a record for future reference.

To obtain Repayment QR Codes, please contact Promise branches or log-in to member zone and get them from the account information column. (if applicable)

Jet payment via JETCO ATM*
Users of JETCO ATM can make repayments with JET PAYMENT via JETCO ATM. During payment, please enter Merchant Code "8151" and the first 8 digits of your membership number. After completion of the payment, please print out and keep the receipt as a record for future reference.

For enquiries about JETCO ATM service, please call its customer service hotline at 2520 1747.

Bank of China (Hong Kong) Online Banking *
Bank of China (Hong Kong) users can settle the repayment via BOC (HK) online banking. When registering or settling the repayment, please select "bill payment" and "credit services", and enter your 8-digit membership number.
For enquiries about online banking with Bank of China (Hong Kong), please call its customer service hotline at 3988 2388.

EPS
Please visit any of our branches in person and use EPS payment services.

Cheque
The cut-off time for repayment by cheques is 3 pm on each bank settlement day. If the repayment cheque is received after the cut-off time, the repayment date will be treated as the next bank settlement day.

Please have your cheques crossed and made payable to「邦民日本財務(香港) 有限公司」or "Promise (Hong Kong) Company Limited". Post-dated cheque will not be accepted.

* Notes:

In general, please allow one to three business days for the repayment record to be shown in our system.

In the event of any non-compliance with: 1) the date of repayment; 2) the monthly repayment amount; 3) the repayment method as prescribed in the Loan Agreement, subsequent dates of repayment and repayment amounts may be affected.

For customers who have selected autopay as their mode of repayment in the Loan Agreement, if you desire to make repayments by means other than autopay, to protect your own interests, please contact us in advance by calling our branches or our Customer Service Hotline, otherwise it may affect the autopay arrangement.

What is the cut-off date and bank clearing day on the repayment schedule?

If customers repay before the cut-off date, it will be treated as an additional repayment and the repayment date of the current month will remain unchanged. Otherwise, if customers repay on or after the cut-off date, it will be treated as repayment of such instalment.
Generally, bank clearing day refers to Monday to Friday (except public holidays).

What if the monthly repayment date happens to be a public holiday?

If the repayment day is not a bank clearing day in that month, the repayment day will be moved up/postponed to the next banking clearing day, in accordance with the "arrangement of repayment day not being bank clearing day" as stated in the loan agreement signed by customers.

Can I make extra repayments on top of my monthly repayment?

Our flexible repayment scheme allows customers to decide their own repayment tenure and amount. If you have sufficient funds, you may make an extra repayment at anytime. Interest will be calculated instantly with outstanding loan balance after repayment. Your subsequent repayment tenure and interest will be deducted correspondingly.

Can I clear the loan in advance? Is there additional charge?

Sure, customers can select the repayment period and amount flexibly. Promise interest is calculated on a daily basis. If you decided to clear your loan in advance, the interest will be calculated up to the day that you clear your loan, with no additional charges (e.g. penalty, handling fee, etc.)

How will overdue repayment affect the interest?

The calculation of overdue interest will be the same as other customers, as we would calculate the daily interest with the outstanding loan balance, and interest rate shall not be raised because of overdue payment. However, HKD100.00 will be charged for administration fee of overdue.

When will my bank debit my account if I choose autopay as my repayment method? How many days are there needed to stop the autopay instruction?

The bank will debit within 24 hours of your repayment date. For your own interests, please reserve sufficient funds in your bank account one business day in advance of repayment.

If you want to make the repayment by another methods other than autopay in that month, you should make the payment within 6 business days, after the cut-off date and before the repayment day, in order to stop the autopay of that month.

To protect the interest of customers, we advise you to contact our branches before repayment, to make sure autopay repayment can be stopped in that month.
